Back in the 1990's Carhartt was a big part of the hip hip culture. Rappers like Nas, Dr. Dre, EMPD, Onyx, Das EFX and many others would wear full mechanic Carhartt suits or Jackets in their videos, album covers and photo shoots because Carhartt, with it's rugged hardcore look and feel played well with their image. But like many things that were the craze in hip hop culture, it came and went. Today Carhartt is still very much in business and has expanded since that time to now include items for women and even kids.
