
Christmas came early for the Harlem Boys and Girls Club thanks to Hip Hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Combs came to the rescue of one of the organization's uptown locations which was scheduled to close, preventing a shut down and displacement of many youngsters who spent a lot of their time there by handing over a personal $60,000 check.
According to The New York Daily News, the nonprofit organization was considering closing one of its four uptown sites, or trimming their budget for sports and tutoring programs. Combs, a native of the Harlem area, came in to save the day, though, with his donation. Once he heard they needed help, he decided it was the only right thing to do, calling it “something that I am proud to do.
