Town of Troy Reaches Settlement Over George W. Bush Hunting Game

BY ART + TIMES:
Back in 2008 when an exhibit opened in the small New York town of Troy, visitors and town officials were taken aback by what they saw. Part of the exhibit was a video game in which an Iraqi terrorist hunted President George W. Bush. An obvious no no, some residents and officials expressed outraged which ultimately lead to the shut down of the exhibit under a building code violation. This sparked years of legal action which has now finally come to a close.

Details of the settlement would be announced later, a spokesman for Troy's mayor said. Mirch, who now lives in Florida, told the Times Union of Albany that he believed that the settlement involved the creation of a fund for artistic programing. He said he was happy the case was over.
The executive director of the Sanctuary for Independent Media, Steve Pierce, said he was "looking forward to moving forward in a positive way" with the city.
