Surely most of you know who Mark Zuckerberg is. He along with some other guys gave us Facebook and has become a household name among the techies. There is another name that's rapidly becoming a household name as well and that name is Jack Dorsey. Who the fuck is Jack Dorsey? Well he is the co-founder and Chairman of a little company called Twitter. The company went public last Thursday and lets just say Jack Dorsey, is probably plotting his 3rd act as you read this. Here are some things you should know about one of tech's superstars.
1. The guy is a nerd. He was named to the MIT Tech Review as part of the top 35 innovators in the world under 35 .
2. In his teens he created dispatch routing software that is still used today by some taxi cab companies
3. The idea for Twitter came to him back in 2000. He Biz Stone and and Noah Glass co-founded Obvious which then spun off Twitter inc.
4. In addition to being Chairman of Twitter Inc, Jack is also the founder and CEO of Square, the company that allows you to accept credit card payments on your smartphone among other things.
5. People say he become a billionaire last week when Twitter went public valuing his shares at about $2.8 billion, but technically was already a billionaire being that his other company, Square was valued at $3.2 billion back in 2012
6. He is friends with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg
7. He poses for street fashion photos via Carpe Street Snap with his yoga instructor girlfriend
8. He and actor Bradley Cooper have the same taste in eye-wear
9. Twitter actually has almost 883 million users, but Jack and company only like to talk about the 232 million active users.
10. He wants to be Mayor of New York City one day, but has to make the permanent move here first
