Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer Wants to Follow in The Footsteps of Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen

Armed with a $20+ Billion fortune, Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has joined the list of individuals looking to get their hands on the embattled L.A Clippers. The $1+ Billion the team could sell for would be a drop in the bucket for Mr. Ballmer and would give him something to do now that he is no longer running the world's biggest software company. He would follow in the footsteps of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen who has built a sports empire with the Seattle Seahawks (NFL), Portland Trailblazers (NBA) and Seattle Sounders (MLS).

Ballmer met with Shelly Sterling just days after she was reportedly given control of the team by Donald Sterling, who was banned from the NBA for life on April 30 following the release of audio tapes in which he was recorded making racist remarks. According to the TMZ report, Shelly Sterling is attempting to negotiate the sale of the Clippers on her own terms, though how any potential deal would be received by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA’s board of governors is unclear. Silver and the board of governors are scheduled to meet on June 3 to decide whether to force Donald Sterling out as the Clippers’ owner.
