With gay rights and equality now recognized in all of America's north east, Time magazine believes that America's next civil rights frontier will be for the transgendered. The current cover of the magazine is fronted by transgendered actress Laverne Cox who stars in the popular Netflix series, "Orange is the new black" Check out the video clip of Ms. Cox below.
“We
are in a place now where more and more trans people want to come
forward and say, ‘This is who I am.’ And more trans people are willing
to tell their stories,” Cox told Time.
“More of us are living visibly and pursuing our dreams visibly, so
people can say, ‘Oh yeah, I know someone who is trans.’ When people have
points of reference that are humanizing, that demystifies difference.”
