The Apple/Beats deal is done and both Dr. Dre and Beats partner/former Interscope Records Chairman Jimmy Iovine are no longer their own bosses. The $3 billion dollars apple paid for Beats brings both Dre and Jimmy Iovine on as new employees working under Itunes Cheif Eddy Cue. This morning during a presentation at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, Dre whose net worth will balloon to about $1.2 billion because of the buyout, was introduced during a conference call by Apple's senior vice president of software engineering Craig Federighi.
“What time should I show up for work?” asked the hip-hop
producer/entrepreneur, joking that he wanted to arrive at the company’s
campus in the morning before early-arriving CEO Tim Cook.
“New employee orientation starts at 9:00, and you don’t want to miss the
free t-shirt,” Federighi told Dre in a tongue-in-cheek conversation.
The company did not announce a job title for Dre.
