EMI continues to be ruined by guys who know nothing about the music business

Remember when EMI was one of the hottest music companies in the business. Remember when it used to be a company many artist wanted to join? Now artists are clawing their way out of any dealings with the seriously embattled record company because ever since it was sold to a bunch of dicks, they literally ran it into the ground. I doubt if any other company would want to buy it now which is probably its only shot at survival, well it's artist anyway. Because surely the EMI name would be put to rest. The latest disaster at the company under the leadership of Guy Hands (pictured) is a recent deal that had the company licensing it's recordings to other companies which seems to have fallen flat. Can someone please put these idiots out of their misery? We literally have a eulogy for EMI ready to go. Jason Flom could have been running the show.
The label hoped to license the rights to distribute its music in the Americas to rival Universal Music Group under a five-year pact that would have paid EMI as much as $300 million. By pawning off its music rights, EMI -- whose acts include Coldplay, Lady Antebellum and The Beatles -- hoped to get a cash payment up front that it could use to meet its looming obligations.

"This was a desperate maneuver to get them to cough up cash," said one source close to the talks.
