Stun Politics: 10 Reasons Why Obama Will be Hard to Beat in 2012

STUNNED BY EDDIE
Don't be fooled by the media pundits and angry talk from the right when it comes to President Obama and the job he is doing. OK, so the past 2 years haven't been perfect and not all the President's policies are winners. polling numbers on the economy and the President's job approval may be low right now, but his overall approval rating still sits at about 50%. What this says is that, Americans are concerned about the economy and they think he could/should do more. But they still think the President deserves a shot and they like the guy.  Also think about where we are coming from and how bad it could have gotten if Obama didn't act fast and made bold decisions to pull our economy back from the crumbling cliff it was sitting on when he took office. Wall Street was out of control and the once mighty U.S. auto industry was knocking on failure's door. Going against a strong push back from the Republican party who wanted to let the auto industry crash and burn which would have resulted in more job loss, Obama and the Democrats pushed through a bail out package, saving many jobs in the auto sector as well as the supporting industries. Now companies like GM are once again profitable and they've paid back their loans with interest to the government. GM and FORD are now planning to invest billions to build new plants which will create new jobs. We are now in another Presidential election, and as potential Republican candidates emerge, it is clear that Obama may very well win a second term. We looked at the current pool of candidates and what they bring to the table as well as some of Obama's accomplishments in his first term to put together 10 reasons Obama will be hard to beat in 2012.

The Competition: The Republican candidates for President are slowly rolling. However the problem is, none of them are bringing anything new to the table. Its nothing but sound bites, and talking points strictly based on ideology and not reality. Lets not forget, it was their polices that dug us into this muddy ditch. America want's new fresh ideas, not the same old same old. Also the American voter is looking for solutions, not anger.

The Youth Appeal: No President seeking a second term ever has the same fire and excitement behind them like they did when they first ran for office. But the fact still remains that President Obama more than any other president in history, appeals to a young progressive voting block, and he still holds this card.

Techy:  Related to the whole youth appeal thing, President Obama loves technology. He is never without his blackberry, his iPad or his iPod. The man likes to stay connected. But of course his connections are extremely secure.

Campaigner in Chief: Obama’s formidable skill as a campaigner and his unparalleled political organization is umatched. During his first two years as president, Obama faltered on communication, failing to reassure the public on the economy and health-care reform, and that cost the Democrats dearly in the 2010 midterms. But Obama has retooled his team and pivoted toward the center, repositioning himself with remarkable speed in the face of the newly empowered GOP

Historians Called It: Presidential historian Allan Lichtman pegged Obama as on track for reelection nearly a year ago. According to his system of “13 keys to the presidency,” only four are working against Obama: a loss of Democratic House seats in the 2010 midterms (which Mr. Lichtman had anticipated last March), lower economic growth in Obama’s term compared with the previous two presidential terms, a lack of major success in foreign or military affairs, and lack of incumbent charisma.

He is The President: Incumbency presents Obama with pluses and minuses. On the plus side, he has shown that he can win a presidential race. History also shows that a president usually wins a second term when his first term represented a change of party. But Obama is no longer a cipher. He has a record, and the 2012 election will be an up-or-down judgment on his tenure so far.

Osama Bin Laden Sleeps on a Sea Bed: For 10 years the world's most wanted Terrorists managed to evade capture while the world's most powerful and sophisticated intelligence community looked for him. For years government officials placed Bin Laden in the lawless border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan. But as it turns out he was living comfortably in a house in an affluent neighborhood in Pakistan. When Obama took office, one of the first things he did was put in place a renewed effort to hunt and kill Bin Laden. This renewed effort and work done during he Bush admin helped Obama put an end to an era when marines located and killed the terror leader.. Voters care more about the economy and jobs right now, but this is still a major plus for the president when it comes to the security of the country. Obama is not soft on terrorism, an argument Republicans love to make, is not officially dead.

Up Hill Battle For GOP Contenders: GOP's rising stars who continue to be part of the presidential chatter, such as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, draw poor marks back home. If home isn't behind you, then the foundation isn't there to build a viable campaign.

Style and Appeal: Style isn't just what you're wearing. Its your overall image and approach to what you do. American's love a President who is kind of out of the box. Some won't admit that but its true. Obama is known to take other world leaders to eat burgers and fries. He is also know to  wear his leather flip flop on Marine and Air Force One. Both he and first lady Michelle Obama are the most stylish occupants of the White House since the kennedies. Both shun the boring by the book dos and donts . Mrs. Obama is known for showing off her toned arms and Mr Obama's suits fit him like a run way model. It is said that American's spend hours looking at photos of the Obama's. After all they are the most photographed President & First lady in recent years. At the end of the day, Americans love the Obamas.

Possible $1 Billion Campaign: Obama blew everyone out of the water when his campaign raised ovr $700 Million dollars which they spend wisely to win the White House and still has millions left over. Obama is expected to raise as much as $1 billion, says Patricia Zengerle at Reuters, a figure "unprecedented in U.S. politics." Although he will likely lose many of the grassroots donors who backed him in 2008, the president will benefit from "the kind of big-money donations he has criticized in the past." His campaign war chest is "likely to dwarf that of his eventual Republican opponent."
