Though there are many in music journalism that thinks the Kanye West, Jay Z album "Watch The Throne" is over hyped and under delivers, fans seem to have a different opinion because the album is expected to sell 500K in its first full week of release shutting those critics down. But some still argue that the sales are based on the fact that the project is from two of hip hop's biggest and doesn't necessarily mean its a good album musically but more of a collector's item.Who knows?
The album is on track to become the second-largest sales week of the year, behind Lady Gaga's 1.1 million opener for "Born This Way."[Billboard]
"Watch" will easily top the Billboard 200 chart next week (which will be revealed on Aug. 17), unless something completely unexpected happens. The album will mark the 12th No. 1 album for Jay-Z and the fifth for West. Jay has previously topped the list with two other collaborative albums: "MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups Presents: Collision Course" with Linkin Park, and "Unfinished Business" with R. Kelly.
