Forget people magazine and their sexiest men of the year lists. Heat magazine placed soccer star David Beckham at the top of their "hottest hunks in the world" list putting him over actors like Robert Pattinson and Johnny Depp.

Second place in the list went to movie star Ryan Gosling, with Ryan Reynolds in third spot.
The list was compiled from reader votes and an expert panel including a modelling agency boss and a celebrity photographer who judged the men on talent, dress sense, sex appeal and personality. LA Galaxy star Beckham was one of three Brits to make the top 10.
