Designed by the classical American architect, William Bottomley, River
House epitomized the height of luxurious living when the building opened
in 1931. The Residence overlooking the East River will reflect the
same qualities updated for 21st century living. Offering a residence at
the base of a significant building is very much in keeping with other
stately New York cooperative buildings such as the maisonettes at the
base of the Carpenter and Candela-designed cooperatives of Fifth and
Park Avenues.
