"American Idiot" the play based on the Grammy smash album from rockers Green Day is moving to the St. James Theater on Broadway this spring, in time to be considered for the 2010 Tony Awards. According to the producers the play is scheduled to open
April 20th.
The musical, which centers on three young male friends whose lives take decidedly different turns, had a run last fall at Berkeley Repertory Theater, starring John Gallagher Jr., who won the Tony Award for best featured actor in a musical in 2007 for “Spring Awakening.”
We wouldn't mind checking this out at all. We also wouldn't mind seeing some other hit album turned into Broadway plays as well. Here is our short and sweet list:
