Either they didn't have the balls to take on Apple here in the states, or they realized they didn't stand a fighting chance. The music industry's big four have teamed up with computer/tech giant HP and Omnifone cloud-music services to create a
European alternative to the mighty iTunes called Music Station. The Service will be available to those who purchase one of HP's 16 new PCs and will allow access to music downloads for a monthly subscription fee.
”With its huge scale and user base, HP’s 10 country introduction of Omnifone’s MusicStation unlimited music service for the PC will help encourage legitimate access to digital music content from Universal Music and all the other major and independent labels.”
Currently Musicstation.com forwards to the VH1.com website which is owned by MTV which is owned by Viacom. Musicstation.net is just sitting there and Musicstation.co.uk is also just sitting there. Which one of these domains will serve as the home for this new service, if at all?
