Tommy Mottola, sat atop the music world as CEO of Sony Music Entertainment. He discovered and delivered to us Mariah Carey and many other artists still topping the charts today. When he left Sony Music in 2003 he went on to relaunch Casablanca Records and launched and/or relaunched the careers of artists like Marc Anthony, Lindsay Lohan and others. Now that Mr. Mottola has conquered the music business, he is now turning his sites on conquering the art world.
This weekend he opened an art gallery on Main Street in a space that formerly housed an Hermès boutique. Gallery Valentine, named after a supposedly prestigious Manhattan gallery, is a joint venture with Mr. Mottola's friend, Ryan Ross, who has run Arcature Fine Art on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach for a decade or so.[WSJ]
