STUNNED BY DRE
There are many things we never knew about the late King of Pop Michael Jackson and probably we never will. But since his untimely death some things have come to light. We now know the man battled insomnia and depended on a deadly drug to get some shut eye. We now know that his kids are actually normal. We now know that he was a good father. But what many didn't know was that Michael Jackson was a serious lover of art, so much that he has amassed collection of paintings and sculptures throughout his career and has even put pencil to paper and brush to canvas himself. 2 years after his death, there is no doubt that his collection and even his own work holds serious value which has now become a debate in the art world as well as within his own former inner circle of family members and lawyers. The big question being thrown about today? What are these pieces really worth? Some put it at close to $100 million and others say its closer to $1Billion. But with an alleged false appraisal by an individual who isn't even a member of International Society of Art Appraisers, another question mark hangs over the King of Pop's head once again.According to Star, Jackson family lawyers are attempting to block the $87.7 million sale of a collection of Michael Jackson's artwork, which includes sculptures and sketches by the King of Pop himself. The sale is being pushed forward by Brett-Livingston Strong, a friend and artistic mentor to Jackson. While Strong has a letter from Jackson's manager gifting the artwork to the artist, Star reports that legal experts are concerned the document may be a fake.[Radar via Artinfo]
