Former Universal Music Group turned Sony Music Chieftain Doug Morris is not one to waste time. He likes to hit the ground running when he takes on a new adventure and he did just that when he landed at Sony Music. He quickly shook up what he saw as a top heavy management structure and brought in trusted under bosses like Antonio "L.A." Reid to run Epic records. Now he is looking to grow the business via acquisitions and new partnership deals. Sony under Mr. Morris is now awaiting approval to take over EMI's publishing business and he is ready to go all out to bring the Cash Money Records label and its artists to the Sony empire. Whether this happens or not will depend on how far Mr. Morris Will go to bring in the mega hip hop label. [AHH]

The Biggest record label in the world will get even bigger if its deal to take over the recorded music business of EMI wins approval. EMI the 4th largest music group in the world will cease to exist if such a deal takes place and will bring artists like Katy Perry, Lenny Kravits and Coldplay under the same roof as Drake, Justin Bieber and Kanye West creating a super, super power officially dwarfing the 3rd biggest music group in the world, Warner Music which pulled out of the bidding for EMI's recording music business.
