Norman Parkinson has been called the greatest fashion photographer in the world. Credited with bringing British fashion to the world, fashionistas and art enthusiasts will get to enjoy some of his most iconic images and also get to see some of his work that has never been shown before via an exhibition titled "Pink is the Navy Blue of India", in Bengaluru starting Friday.
The exhibition highlights Norman Parkinson's many travels, for being commissioned to travel to exotic locations was of great importance in Norman Parkinson's heydey. "We also have pictures shot in other parts of the world, because travel is an underlying theme of the exhibition," says Abhishek. "The thing with him is you can never really tell what era the pictures were shot in, atleast not quite from the way he shoots them." One of Vogue magazine's most celebrated photographers, Parkinson was commissioned to travel the world doing what he did best - letting life and art come together. He played with colour, with fashion and the human form, exploring the many dimensions of existence, bringing to light the beauty and perfection that lies within life's smallest details. Before he came onto the scene, fashion photography found little relation to the realities of life.source: DC
