Back in the day, the forgotten borough Staten Island was like the ugly step sister of New York City. Then it gave birth to artists like The Wu Tang Clan and was placed on the map thanks to their classic debut album "Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers". Now Staten Island is putting history on display at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center where it will display memorabilia from the Wu Tang Clan as well as Staten Island's other big name music acts, The New York Dolls and Living Color.
"A lot of people don't know about how many musicians came from here, perform here, and still live here today," said Lynn Kelly, Snug Harbor's president and CEO. "If you grew up here you might know. Now I want the world to know these are things we should be celebrating."source: DNAinfo
