STUNNED BY DRE:
Ever heard of Chris Blackwell? Well maybe not. Here is a quick dossier on Mr. Blackwell. In 1955, he founded Island Records in Kingston Jamaica. The label went on to give us music stars like Bob Marley, Grace Jones, Ultravox, U2, Tom Waits, The Orb and Pulp to name a few. After he sold Island Records, he took the money doubled down in Jamaica by purchasing beach front properties including the legendary Golden Eye estate once the home of James Bond creator Ian Flemming. Today Chris Blackwell is Jamaica's resort and hotel king via his Island Outpost company which owns and operates top luxury resorts and hotels all over the Island of Jamaica like The Caves in Negril, Geejam in Port Antonio, Golden Eye in Oracabessa, Strawberry Hill in Blue Mountains and a collection of luxury villas. Anyone of these hotels are a must stay if you travel to Jamaica for some island fun. The culture is rich, the food is great and the people are warm like the evening sun. Here is a video clip of Chris Blackwell on the history of the Golden Eye hotel and resort and why it is the best on the Island.
