P. Diddy is getting some healthy competition from his former flame Jennifer Lopez who is said to have submitted a bid for Fuse TV through NuvoTV, an English-language cable channel for Latinos partly backed by Lopez. Her bid is said to have topped Diddy's $200 million bid which means if Diddy really wants Fuse, he will have to sweeten his offer. Since launching his Revolt TV which currently reaches 22.8 million homes, Diddy has been looking for other ways to increase the young network's reach. If he is successful in getting Fuse, he will be able to expand Revolt's reach further because Fuse currently reaches 74 million homes. Revolt TV would replace Fuse in those homes giving Diddy, a massive media presence. We suspect the goal is the same for Jennifer Lopez's NuvoTV.
The bid makes rivals of the music moguls and former
sweethearts, who each want to buy Fuse to gain distribution to
74 million homes, the people said. NuvoTV, based in Los Angeles,
reaches about 34 million households through pay-TV operated by
Dish Network Corp., Time Warner Cable Inc. and AT&T Inc.
