Eighty years ago, French architect Charlotte Perriand started designing prefabricated homes. Perriand was one of the first female architects, designers, and planners who made a name for herself. This year at Art Basel in Miami Beach Charlotte's daughter Pernette Perriand and Perriand historian Jacques Barsac built one of Charlotte's uncompleted homes, La Maison au Bord de l'Eau. The home built in South Beach, which will be sold, was sponsored by Louis Vuitton, which modeled its 2014 collection after Charlotte.
