It's Grammy time, what are the music magazines saying?

The frontman for Kings of Leon, which Spin has anointed "Band of the Year" for 2009, is feeling the pressures of success lately. Of its hit single, "Use Somebody," Caleb Followill says, "If I hear one more person cover that song, I'm gonna f------ rip my throat out." Other evidence that rock stars -- or at least the media who cover them -- are losing all perspective: a feature that chronicles musicians' health insurance worries. We're sure Led Zeppelin felt the pinch of the 1970s energy crisis as they jetted from gig to gig, but did they do interviews about it? Elsewhere, we did enjoy the double-truck photo of a fat, shirtless Brooklyn man writhing on his back with the lead singer and guitarist of the Screaming Females. More...
