The deal is basically done. All the I's are being dotted and the T's are being crossed and as soon as the ink is dry on the paper work, Tumblr.com's young founder and CEO David Karp will pocket a cool $200 million from the $1.1 billion Yahoo is paying for his blogging site. Other social media websites skyrocketed to the top almost overnight instantly making their founders billionaires. David Karp and Tumblr chose the one brick at a time route (or it chose them depending who you ask) and now with the money and muscle of Yahoo behind it, Tumblr can start to lay those bricks a little faster and wider. Yahoo has pledged not to stick their hands in the Tumblr pot and screw it up and the site's founder and CEO David Karp and his team are still in control, for now.
