Is DOMA About to Die?

What will happen if and when DOMA is stuck down by the supreme court? Other than gay couples finally getting their due rights, some fear it may cause a wave of crimes against same sex couples by individuals associated with extreme religious groups.  In the meantime, the Supreme court still has tons of questions.

A majority of Supreme Court justices on Wednesday morning appeared skeptical of the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriage for federal purposes as between a man and a woman. Whether the justices believe they have the power to make any decision in this case, however, remained murky.
