With over 21 million unique visitors per month, fallen social networking site Myspace is still trucking along the best way it knows how. After being taken over by an investment group that includes singer/actor Justin Timberlake, the website went through a massive overhaul, refused to let people delete their accounts and remade itself as an online music hub for young men. Continuing with that new identity, Myspace has rolled out the mother of all playlists with its new music player:
Myspace (www.myspace.com), a leading social entertainment destination that lets artists and fans share and discover content, today announced the release of its new Myspace Music Player, which empowers people to access the world's largest catalog of music online. The new player is the first to provide free unlimited on-demand listening, lean-back personalized radio mode, improved search functionality, as well as instant sync capabilities that allows people to share the music they've listened to on Myspace with their friends on Facebook. The player's advanced features reflect Myspace's DNA: promoting and enabling music sharing and discovery. Through unique licensing agreements with Sony, Universal, EMI and Warner (aka The Big Four record labels) and partnerships with 20,000 independent labels, Myspace has unrivaled global rights to more than 42 million songs, boasting a library that is three-times the size of other online catalogs.[The Bee]
