It looks like some top name universities have money to burn on sex. Schools like The University of Kansas are buying up sexy domain names like www.KUgirls.xxx and www.KUnurses.xxx but its not what you think. This is actually an effort to protect their image and name. Apparently they plan to buy up all versions of a domain name that could stick itself to them. Talk about paranoid. We are forced to wonder what a www.KUgirls.xxx website would look like though..Hmmm?
“Down the road there’s no way we can predict what some unscrupulous entrepreneur might come up with,” said Paul Vander Tuig, trademark licensing director at the Lawrence, Kan., school. The university spent nearly $3,000 in all. It plans to sit on the .xxx names and do nothing with them.[Wapo]
