There are 20 Million Reasons Why Justin Timberlake Returned to Music

We never thought for a second that Justin Timberlake was done with music, after all he made his fortune from music. However we didn't really expect him back right now tearing up the charts and bringing in sales of almost 1 million units of his new "The 20/20 Experience" CD in its first week of release. We thought he would continue to focus on his acting gigs and other business ventures like Myspace.com. But we now know why the pop star is back full force on the music scene.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Timberlake's abrupt fast and heavy return to music, and, later this year, to the stage will be because of a touring commitment to Live Nation made in 2009 with the singer.  The partnership with Timberlake involved the singer receiving $20 million — $5 million free — in return for a deal to perform for Live Nation.

Myspace Living Up to Its New Music Identity

STUNNED BY DRE
With over 21 million unique visitors per month, fallen social networking site Myspace is still trucking along the best way it knows how. After being taken over by an investment group that includes singer/actor Justin Timberlake, the website went through a massive overhaul, refused to let people delete their accounts and remade itself as an online music hub for young men. Continuing with that new identity, Myspace has rolled out the mother of all playlists with its new music player:
Myspace (www.myspace.com), a leading social entertainment destination that lets artists and fans share and discover content, today announced the release of its new Myspace Music Player, which empowers people to access the world's largest catalog of music online. The new player is the first to provide free unlimited on-demand listening, lean-back personalized radio mode, improved search functionality, as well as instant sync capabilities that allows people to share the music they've listened to on Myspace with their friends on Facebook. The player's advanced features reflect Myspace's DNA: promoting and enabling music sharing and discovery. Through unique licensing agreements with Sony, Universal, EMI and Warner (aka The Big Four record labels) and partnerships with 20,000 independent labels, Myspace has unrivaled global rights to more than 42 million songs, boasting a library that is three-times the size of other online catalogs.

The Epic Rise and Even More Epic Fall of Myspace

STUNNED BY DRE
When Myspace.com burst onto the scene back in 2003, it was an instant hit with teenagers looking to stay connected and share photos with their friends while meeting new ones. Myspace was so huge, media giant News Corporation dropped $500 Million to buy it. But after a couple years into the acquisition, News Corp began to have buyers remorse when all indications showed that it may have been a hyped purchase. Myspace.com was soon overrun with explicit content and advertising, lacking serious content filters and privacy policies. Users began to fall like flies as It became what many referred to as a hook up destination. Then Facebook.com happened and Myspace's decline went into a rapid decent. The site underwent many image remakes and site revamps in an effort to compete with the more secure and spam free Facebook. But those efforts didn't shift the needle at all. Myspace's last attempt at a remake came with a new branding strategy that was also a disaster right out the gate. The company rolled out a new logo and website design that only brought more headaches as users continued to defect to Facebook in droves. The last straw came back in June, when the site was sold to a private investment group which included pop singer and actor Justin Timberlake for just $35 million, a meager 7% of what it sold for when News Corp bought it. Today, the site is taking yet another shot at remaking itself, this time into a music hub for young males. Wonder if this was Justin TImberlake's idea because, this may be yet another epic fail for Myspace.

Justin Timberlake Brings His Roll In "The Social Network" to Life

Justin Timberlake The 'Silent Mogul' has expanded his business empire which already includes, clothes, beverages, music and TV to now include the shrinking Myspace.com. He is part of a consortium which includes Specific Media, a small ad firm that paid $30 Million for the once mighty Myspace. Justin says there is still plenty of potential left in the website and he plans to play a major roll in helping to squeeze that out. [WSJ]

Justin Timberlake, The Silent Mogul

STUNNED BY DRE
Justin Timberlake has mastered the art of breaking away from the whole boy band image. You rarely if ever hear people refer to him as Justin Timberlake formerly of Nsync. Justin has managed to crush that with a successful solo music career, a buzzing film career and business ventures. There is an old saying that says, "The Loudest Guy in The Room is The Weakest Guy in The Room". Justin Timberlake is moves in silence. Since the disbanding of Nsync, Justin has gone on to build businesses many of which some people aren't aware of and it isn't because they aren't successful, its because Justin is confident in his investments and tends to shun money talk. He is easily worth north of $100 million thanks to his William Rast clothing company, film music and television portfolios. He has co-owned or provided celebrity endorsement for three restaurants in the United States: "Chi" opened in West Hollywood, California in 2003,  and "Destino" and "Southern Hospitality" in New York opened in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

Justin Timberlake is Not One For Casual Vag

One would think that someone of Justin Timberlake's status can get any woman he wants, and he probably could. But the singer/actor is not a fan of casual hook ups because he says:
"It's a really good idea until it becomes a bad idea, It probably becomes a bad idea really fast."

Justin plays a guy in a casual relationship in the new movie "Friends with Benefits"
